Scandic Sanadome winner of Sustainable Business Award 2010
On Monday 13 April 2010, the Foundation De Maatschappelijke MeerWaarde (DMMW, which acts as a link between companies and social organizations) presented Scandic Sanadome Nijmegen with the Sustainable Business Award.
Scandic Sanadome Nijmegen received the price because, according to the jury, Corporate Social Responsibility has been an integral part of the strategic policy for the past 10 years. Scandic Sanadome holds the European Ecolabel and has implemented Corporate Social Responsibility into its own operational management. By managing based on values such as the environment, safety, society, health, turnover and costs, Scandic Sanadome ensures that the focus remains on all these areas.
The menu contains many organic products and the company also contributes actively to fundraising activities for, among others, Stichting Tante Lenie, the Ronald McDonald house, Stichting KiKa and Opkikker to help sick children and their families. For Sanadome, it is not only important to propagate CSR, but the company has also made a conscious choice to cooperate with mainly local suppliers who are committed to a CSR policy too.
The employees have a monthly consultation in order to discuss how the company can develop in an even smarter, better and more sustainable way. The jury was convinced: “At Scandic Sanadome, CSR is in the genes of all the employees!”
The Foundation De Maatschappelijke MeerWaarde (DMMW) brings together requirements from social organizations and offers from companies. Organic Produce
In addition to serving organically farmed salmon from the Scottish Shetland Islands and Meuse- Rhine-Issel beef, we serve duck from the Veluwe region and Kemper organic chicken. We are pleased to offer an assortment of regional produce from around Nijmegen and the Land van Maas en Waal, with a familiar origin and using only local ingredients.

We serve 'Peeze' Mex-eco coffee, a top quality product.
The coffee beans are grown ecologically and carry the 'Max Havelaar' verification mark.
Green Guarantees certificate from Essent
With Groen Garanties (Green Guarantees), we are making our electricity consumption green. We buy the guarantee that the electricity is produced in an environmentally friendly way. And for this reason, we received the Groen Garanties certificate from the energy company Essent. Scandic Sanadome Nijmegen has chosen to use electricity that has been generated in an environmentally friendly way.
